The Contra A39 features the Miyota 9039 automatic movement from their premium-line, delivering a smooth second hand at 28,800 bph. A movement that punches well above its weight class.
CASE
This high-performance movement is housed in a marine-grade 316-L stainless steel case with 900-1100 HV hardness and a 30 ATM depth rating. This watch can take a beating, and with its finely polished chamfers, it's equally pretty as sturdy. The Contra A39 measures 39mm in diameter, 47mm lug-to-lug, and 12mm thick, offering a balanced and comfortable fit.
DIAL
The polished diamond-cut hands align with the applied hour markers on a matte dial available in Raisin Black or Charcoal Blue. In dark environments, the Contra A39 shines bright with Swiss Super-LumiNova (BGW9) lume.
BEZEL
For fun, turn the 120-click unidirectional smooth bezel and enjoy the satisfying "tik" sound. Impress your friends by aligning it perfectly at 12 o'clock and then act like you plan to go diving with it.
CRYSTAL
The double-domed sapphire crystal, hardened for resistance, has a double inner anti-reflective coating, making the dial incredibly legible.
CROWN
Set the time with the turn-pull-turn action of the screw-down crown. Proportionate to the watch and similarly finished, with brushed sides and a polished end featuring the Belhamel icon, it's easy to use and keeps the watch understated.
CASE-BACK
The screw-down case-back, featuring a hydraulic oil-pressed Contra Aqua mark with a polished finishing, includes a unique number up to #0500, chronologically applied, ensuring true exclusivity for the series. This has immediately become one of my very favourite watches and it sits well with brands costing x10 the amount. Te bracelet is excellent but its also a strap monster!! I absolutely love this watch! I’ve had it just over a week now so I cannot commit to a full on review. However, this is my initial reaction is of how great the watch actually is! The quality, the build, the feel of the watch on your wrist, it’s time telling capabilities, it legibility . . the list goes on! And at this price point, too! How can anyone not want this watch as a daily beater/tool watch 🤷🏼♂️ I literally have no doubt over the coming years, my wearing this watch on all my endeavours, where ever I am, I am supremely confident this watch will keep up with me! Whether I’m chilling at home, working, or out on the lakes paddle boarding, even out at sea diving! This watch will be there, keeping up, doing its job, telling the time & being simply just bomb-proof! (I wonder if that would apply in the literal sense 🤔?). Also, the watch just Looks amazing, it actually looks as good as it performs and that’s something you can’t always find in watch as good as this and price! Many, many thanks to all the team at Belhamel! You’ve a customer for life, and a very happy one at that! Keep up the great work!

The watch is fantastic, I'm extremely pleased with my Raisin Black version, simply stunning. What drew to this watch over a host of others, was the modern design with just a hint of retro to scratch that classic itch. Stand out features for me are the hands and subtle touches of colour against the black dial. My job is very physical and my watches take a beating, so the extra hardness coating is very much appreciated. The bracelet is very nice however I found it a bit light, not much weight to it. Its perfectly good but ive gone with a black rubber strap on mine which I think looks much better. Al in all very pleased and impressed with the watch and I'd urge anyone who's sat on the fence to snap one up before they're gone.
