Balanced 39mm automatic diver for daily wear
THE DECISIONS
1.01 – Case proportions
We settled on a 39mm case after testing larger sizes that felt visually heavy. Lug length, bezel width, and thickness were tuned together to keep the watch balanced on the wrist without excess bulk.
1.02 – Movement
We chose the Miyota 9039 for its reliability, slim profile, and no-date layout. It offered the best balance between performance, serviceability, and long-term consistency.
1.03 – Dial / legibility
The polar white dial was chosen for contrast and clarity, finished matte to reduce glare. A double-domed sapphire with inner AR and carefully sized hands and markers keep the watch readable at a glance.
1.04 – Bezel / case-back
A 120-click unidirectional bezel was selected for precision and durability. The screw-down case-back is signed and numbered for traceability.
Durability / finishing
The case is made from hardened 316L steel and rated to 300 meters. Finishing is restrained, with brushed surfaces and polished accents used only where they serve form.
Bracelet / clasp
The bracelet tapers from 20 to 16mm for comfort and balance. A milled, on-the-fly toolless clasp allows quick adjustment without compromising solidity.
